Love in Motion
i don't know what to do.
a writer has to write, an artist has to art, a creator has to create—or in other words, a human being has to be. has to simply be.
but when in the act of creating, sometimes you get stuck. and i mean really stuck. good lord.
i don't know why, but i've always enjoyed thinking about the meaning of life. when things were going good and when things were going bad and everything in between—even the times when i wasn't thinking at all, believe it or not.
it's the soul intention, the heart intention, a true intention/desire/love behind things, behind who we are, that we may or may not even be conscious of, that drives—everything.
i find this so deeply fascinating. i suppose this may be in part why the beauty of life is so astounding. and this is how i see the world.
when anyone truly meditates or yearns or simply sits with this. this question. any true question—existential, philosophical, theological, spiritual—it doesn't even matter what it is.
the only answer, the only conclusion, the root beneath the root, is love.
it's what drives us. it's what fulfills us. it's what fills us. because it is who we are.
so naturally, the heart wants what the heart wants. the heart wants love magnified, personified… every ified.
sometimes i used to wonder how on earth mother teresa became mother teresa and gandhi became gandhi—or anyone who has significantly contributed, significantly achieved, became who they are.
it's only in hindsight, looking back—even if one intellectually understands how true it is—it's only time, and more so, the acceptance and love of self, that truly grounds the understanding: how we are that.
we are that, that which we are.
“I Am That” — Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj
Tat Tvam Asi — “You are that.” (Upanishads)
“The eye with which I see God is the same eye with which God sees me.” — Meister Eckhart

“The kingdom of God is within you.” — Luke 17:21
the place where there is no striving, but being.
the place where being is so free, you can actually breathe.
the air is clean here. it is pure. crisp. supple. enlivening.
and this air is yours.
it lives and breathes.
it begins to soothe and release.
it begins to heal and ease.
all the areas which desire so.
the gentle tender places.
now the true goal, for me.
is it possible,
is it possible,
is it possible…
to create the conditions that evoke this. that awaken this. that revive the human spirit—to awakening and more.
i believe the answer is yes.
every true artist has been given a gift.
which only means every human being has been given a gift.
for what is art but love personified. love dignified. love revitalized.
simply.
love in motion.
the motion of our heart and soul released for all to see.
and that begins with a simple smile.
or maybe even simpler.
with an open heart.
hm.
this is how we will paint the world, you and i.
this above all, i know to be true.
so in this year, and from this day henceforth,
this is what i will see to.
for the remaining time i have left in this world—
however long or short it may be—
this is what it will be.
nothing brings me more joy
than this.
and this alone.
hm.
