socrates
everyone is socrates.
who is socrates.
in history he is the philosopher who taught plato who then taught many others. in dan millman's the way of a peaceful warrior, its the person who seemed to hold the answers and the wisdom speaking in riddles yet, speaking plain truth.
and then one day after that fateful day of that awakening experience, the experience of silence, the experience i have no name for - the receiving and the leaving. everyone thinks about the receiving, but never when it all leaves you. i wished and i wished and i wished upon a star for a mentor. why reinvent the wheel when you can just learn and give faster. finding a mentor for that particular nuance of understanding however, was a little more difficult to find and didnt happen for sometime, until - it was time. thats when i met the woman who profoundly changed my life, just like socrates. and it took many years to see what im about to say next.
and what i want to say on this,
is that everyone is socrates.
yes.
i know sometimes, it really doesnt feel like it. especially when so much is going on and or we have so many emotions all over the place and then lastly, if we want what we want on top of that, to know peace, to know our highest self, to know what it means to reach that place within. and for those of us who are willing to say it and dare dream, to desire for enlightenment, whatever that means.
for me, or for anyone, or traditionally, i think it starts with just trying to get out of pain. forget awakening or enlightenment; it starts with realizing something is off, and going on a journey, wanting to get out pain, wanting to get out of extreme pain perhaps. and the more intense it is on our emotional energetic system, the more there is to process. and yet at the same time, once any of this magnitude is cleared or as we simply make room for more. it leaves a wide opening, a huge gap, and we get to fill that - with whatever we want. simply, the light.
the light of our being, as we see fit, as we simply desire it.
i never felt like a socrates, i admit. it was more about literally getting out of pain and trying to understand what on earth i lived through and if im being extremely frank, how to get back to the most exquisite experience of my life, which in itself was its own pain. to lose heaven itself, to lose the beauty of the world, to lose it all. there are no words that will or can express this. but looking back now, i know, beyond this, there is a deep reservoir of grace and inner sight within us all. and thats called - the heart.
i know. its like kindergarten all over again. but thats how it is sometimes. the most profound truths are so universal, we dont see it anymore. and if we dont see it, or take time to appreciate that which is good, it seems to disappear and you know what they say. energy flows where energy goes. and if our focus is not on appreciation, or at least a fuller picture of all that is going on, then it magnifies a glass half empty, instead of a glass half full, full or even the full glass.
sometimes, when going through the journey of our being, we will be taken places, we know not what to do or even how we got there or frankly anything at all sometimes. but. what i do know is, we have all that we need within. you have all that you need already. for you have you. and you are you. its true. and its always that simple.
we always over look who we are.
they say count your blessings. that includes. you.
and so. this is simply a reminder. if you are going through a time or simply have the same desires since you stumbled upon this page, i would like to remind you once and for all - you are socrates. socrates in the making and socrates at the same time. for what is time, if love is eternal? then you too, are that.
and your innate wisdom is leading you home with every breath you take. and if you carry a faith, your god, your love, all life, is bringing you.
paulo coelho said it something like - all life conspires to bring you what you want.
well i say,all life conspires to bring you - you.its true.
holding true to ones faith, ones heart, ones being and well being. is the beginning of the end. and the beginning all over again. the beginning of a whole new journey, a radical journey, the kind of journey people only dream of, because it takes true heart. to face ones self.
and thats all it takes. its as simple as that too. to face ones fears, to face ones love, to face the self, to face love itself.
and then one day some few or many moons from now, you too will have the same realization i did, all is well and you are you. you are so blessed, its true. keep faith and you will see, its love that got you through.
and the journey of awakening and higher consciousness is nothing more - than living true to the best of ones ability. and as we live and grow, our heart expands and shows, shows us all the riches in store. the kind of riches beyond our wildest dreams.
for it takes the eyes of love - to see, to breathe, to simply come to be.
to your every joy and ecstasy
